Democratic National Committee communications director Brad Woodhouse is trying to make North Carolinians believe that, as far as alleged indiscretions go, its worse for a lobbyist to date a state politicians staffers than it is for a party official to sexually harass his own staffer and infect others with HIV.

News broke late last week that two staffers for North Carolina Republican House Speaker Thom Tillis “admitted having romantic relationships with lobbyists.”

According to local news reports, Democrats in the state are calling for ethics investigations related to the incidents even though local politicians and experts have praised Tillis for acting quickly to address...

Its the first really strong evidence that romantic relationships are driven by women, co-author Robin Dunbar, a professor at Oxford University, told the BBC.

As women age, however, their grown-up daughters become the people they most frequently contact, replacing their spouses as their best friends.

When Doug Paustian went to his first Sustainable Industry Roundtable meeting, he only wanted to get rid of several palettes of peanut butter. Now, the company he works for, Fowler Products, a bottle capping and rinsing equipment manufacturer, has received an award from Athens-Clarke County’s Recycling Division for waste reduction and is generating profits from what otherwise would have been waste.

“We previously incurred costs to have certain materials removed from our facility, but are now selling or giving the materials away,” Paustian said. The bottom line is we are paying less in waste removal and that is better for Fowler and its employees.”

PORTLAND, Ore. — Firefighters were able to save seven pets, trapped inside a two-alarm blaze that damaged a Southeast Portland apartment complex Monday morning.

Portland Fire crews arrived at the Trails End Apartments just before 9:30 am The complex is at 11860 SE Powell Blvd.

Fire had burned out the back of the buildings second floor and began lapping up to reenter the building on the third floor, Portland Fire reports.

The crew from Truck 7 went directly to the roof to cut ventilation holes…, Portland Fire reports. While attacking this blaze, fire crews searched each unit to make sure all the occupants had escaped.
